Once I was fortunate enough to have been young and strong, but now I find myself to be lucky enough to have lived to become much older and weaker.

For all the bounty of youth with its benefits of physicality it comes with the enormous built in flaw of an unsettled and immature mind, and for all the flaws of old age with its deficits of physicality it comes with the enormous built in benefit of a settled and mature mind. From t...

2018 will see the return of the biggest event in our calendar, the 6th Budo on the Beach.

Budo on the Beach is not only the best Budo event of the year its is also one of the best martial arts in the UK (I base this claim on zero research) Shorn has asked me to put a few words together to promote Budo on the Beach, which I naturally wanted to do, but now I find myself writing this blog in 25 degree heat next to Lake Zurich, try...

When I started training in the Bujinkan I already had many many years of training in martial arts, a second dan in Kenpo Karate and various ranks in other arts and styles I dabbled in and out of. So when I started training Bujinkan I had no desire to be a black belt, I already had that. I did however have this goal from the beginning to get as far as my Godan. The idea of what the test entailed and also the thrill of travellin...

Start your new 2016 training year off with loads of great insights from Shihan Marc Moor and assisted by Shidoshi Ryan Hobbs. And what better way to do it then to come along to not only Budo Warrior Schools longest standing event, but the longest continious Bujinkan event in the UK, Budo Bash 16.

This event has been going so long most people have attended this a number of times throughout their training lives. Some have...

The Halloween Budo event has been and gone now. Once again it was a huge success and great fun all round for both the Adults and Childrens sessions.

Our costume awards were won by Oliver for his "Zombie army costume" with very clever facepaint and a lot of effort that went in to it.

The adult costume award went to Sam, who nobody really knew what he was meant to be, but the wig alone made him hillarious and so he narrowly won t...

Thirteen years ago I had an idea. Thirteen years ago I formed Budo Warrior Schools. From humble and noisy beginnings above four squash courts in Cheltenham, Budo Warrior Schools was an instant hit. I had just wanted to run a martial arts school in such a way that I would have loved being taught myself. That idea has worked in many more places across the UK and the Budo Warrior Schools bug has bitten deep.

Now at age thirteen, B...
